Using Grants to Fund Your Private Practice with Anne Marie Flood

Using Grants to Fund Your Private Practice with Anne Marie Flood

Have you ever wondered how you could use grants to fund your private practice?

In this episode of Private Practice Success Stories, I sat down with Anne Marie Flood, a Grow Your Private Practice student to discuss how she did it and now has a thriving private practice.

Some cool things that we discussed in the episode include how as a homeschool parent herself, she’s been able to attract home schoolers as clients and how hiring a virtual assistant has been a game changer for her practice.

If you’ve been thinking about starting and growing a private practice and want to hear how Anne Marie did it, this is a must listen episode!

After 5 years as a Spanish teacher, including earning a master’s in Secondary Education, Anne Marie found her passion in the form of Speech Language Pathology. She returned to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Maryland following the birth of her oldest children.

Between virtual, school-based, and private practice experience, Anne Marie has worked with children with speech and language impairments, and their families, all across the US.

Anne Marie founded Play & Thrive Speech Therapy in January 2022 in the hopes of offering families more flexibility and collaboration. She believes in partnering with families to help early learners improve their speech and language skills through play.

She currently lives in Arnold MD with her husband. When not in the clinic, she can be found homeschooling her two older kids or running with the youngest in the stroller.

In Today’s Episode, We Discuss:

  • Anne Marie’s journey into speech therapy and private practice
  • How to get grants that can help you fund your private practice
  • The most under tapped way to get resources for your private practice
  • The benefits of offering teletherapy in your business
  • How a virtual assistant can take your practice to the next level
  • Ways to get referrals based on the populations you are working with
  • How Anne Marie tapped into the homeschool population
  • Anne Marie’s latest level up in her private practice

I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Anne Marie as much as I did! I love how she had a goal and she went for it. Like with the grant, for example, she looked into resources available to business owners in her community, and she applied and she got it. You know what they say, you can’t win if you don’t play!
